The Inter-Ministerial Group has recommended de-allocation of three more coal blocks due to insufficient progress. These include SKS Ispat and Power Ltd in which Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai's brother allegedly had a link.

With this, the total number of coal blocks recommended by the IMG to the Coal Ministry for cancellation of licenses has risen to seven.

The Inter Ministerial Group is currently reviewing 29 controversial coal block allocations awarded to private firms out of 58, which were given show-cause notices for delays in developing mines.

A decision on the recommendations of the Inter Ministerial Group will have to be taken by the Coal Ministry.
