<span style="color: #222222;">Six Inter-ministerial Central Teams are visiting Maharashtra, Rajasthan,Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal to make on the spot assessment of the compliance and implementation of lockdown measures in the wake of COVID19. These measures are as per the guidelines issued under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.<br />''<br />'' The Inter Ministerial Central Teams, IMCTs deputed to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are on the ground and are carrying out their responsibilities smoothly in consultation with the State Governments. However, the Inter ministerial Central Team to West Bengal is yet to be granted permission by the West Bengal Government to visit areas for on the spot assessment of the COVID19 situation.<br />''<br />'' In a Tweet posted a shortwhile ago, the leader of the team to West Bengal and  Additional Secretary to the Government of India, Mr.Apoorva Chandra said his team landed in Kolkata yesterday and sought logistic support from West Bengal Chief Secretary.  However they have been told that it will not be allowed to visit any State Government facility, including health and quarantine facilities. This in effect will not allow the team to carry out the functions for which it has been deputed.<br />''<br />''The team has public health specialists and officers of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) who can lend their expertise to the State Government for management of the COVID 19 epidemic. The IMCTs focus is on issues like the supply of essential commodities,social distancing , preparedness of health infrastructure and hospital facility. They will also look into aspects like sample statistics in the district, safety of health professionals, availability of test kits,PPEs, masks and other safety equipment and conditions of the relief camps for labour and poor people.</span><br />
