Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi will inaugurate an intensive training programme for Elected Women Representatives(EWRs) and master trainers in New Delhi tomorrow. <br/><br/>The Ministry is initiating the capacity building programme through National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development with an objective to empower these women representatives. <br/><br/>According to an official release, the capacity building is critical to empower women to participate effectively in governance processes. This will help them assume the leadership roles and guide their villages towards a more prosperous future. <br/><br/>This training programme will ultimately train approximately 20 thousand EWRs, covering about 50 EWRs from each district. They will serve as catalysts for social change and function as peer facilitators in the field.
