Intense cold wave conditions continue in most parts of North India. Dense fog in many areas, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan, has affected rail, road and air traffic.<br/><br/>In Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley continued to reel under dry cold wave, with the MeT department predicting light rain or snow during the next 24 hours in some parts.In Himachal Pradesh, capital Shimla experienced its coldest night of the season at minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.<br/><br/>Intense cold wave conditions also prevailed in Rajasthan, with Sriganganagar recording a low of 1.9 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, Ambala braved bone-chilling weather at 5.6 degrees Celsius, with Hisar registering a low of 2.6 degrees.<br/><br/>Delhiites experienced the coldest day of the season yesterday with temperatures dropping to as low as 4.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below the average. Moderate fog engulfed several parts of the Delhi-NCR region this morning.<br/><br/> The visibility reportedly reduced to 200 to 400 meters at different places. More than 25 domestic and international flights were delayed or diverted, while 9 trains were rescheduled, 28 coming to Delhi cancelled, and over 35 delayed.<br/><br/>The temperatures have further dropped in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. The minimum temperature in Leh town was recorded at minus 16.6 degree Celsius.<br/><br/>Normal life in Odisha's Kandhamal district was severely hit with mercury dipping to 3 degree Celsius at Daringbadi. <br/><br/>The cold wave also paralysed life in Phulbani, Balliguda, Daringbadi, Kotagarh and Tumudibandha blocks. The MeT office said, 13 prominent places have recorded temperatures below 10 degree Celsius.
