Intense cold wave claims 15 more lives in Nepal, toll reaches 54

The intense cold continues to take its toll in Nepal. 15 more persons have lost their lives in last two days. According to Police 7 persons died on Saturday and 8 on Friday due to extreme cold in Rautahat, Saptari and Siraha districts. <br/><br/>In last two weeks at least 54 persons have lost lives in bone biting cold. Tarai, the southern part of the country has been worst affected by the cold wave and all deaths so far have been reported from this region only. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division cold wave and dense fog is likely to continue in many areas of Tarai.
