In Uttar Pradesh, the intense campaigning is on in 114 constituencies Central Terai and Eastern regions, where polling is to be held on 8th and 11th February in first and second phases of assembly elections. The nomination process for fifth phase is also going on. Election for this phase will be held in 49 constituencies spread over 13 districts of central region and Bundelkhand. The election for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections is being held in seven phases between 8th February and 3rd March.Meanwhile, the election commission has directed to lodge FIR against 11 candidates for allegedly seeking financial support from corporate houses. This action comes in the wake of a sting operation by a private TV News Channel few days ago. It has also has issued detailed instructions to curb fake voting. The Commission's spokesperson said in Lucknow on Sunday that there will be no alteration in the final voters' list and the polling officials will verify the documents of suspicious voters. Such voters will also be photographed.
