Intelligence failings unacceptable: President Obama

President Obama has acknowledged that the American Intelligence had collected enough information to stop the Nigerian man from boarding the plane with the intention of blowing it up on Christmas Day. Speaking at the White House after his meeting with top security advisers, President Obama said that the intelligence failings were unacceptable. He also said that the attempt at bombing on Christmas Day would not affect his Administration's plans to close down the Guantanamo Bay prison for terror suspects. Earlier, the White House had said that the Nigerian man accused of attempting to blow up the American airliner last month had given useful intelligence to the investigators. A spokesman told FBI that interrogators spent a number of hours with the man after he was removed from a plane in Detroit Airport on Christmas Day.
