Congress today came down heavily on Pakistan for awarding death penalty to Kulbhushan Jadhav. Replying to a media query in New Delhi this evening, senior party leader P Chidambaram said Sartaj Aziz had said that there was insufficient evidence presented of Mr Jadhav's alleged espionage. He hoped that Indian government will take the matter at the highest level with Pakistan. <br/><br/>Earlier, on a query, Mr Chidambaram said, Goods and Services Tax bill will bring greater efficiency in tax collection but can be inflationary. On budget session, he said, from the point of view of understanding and assessing state of economy, the session was unsatisfactory. He also said country's economy is in poor state. <br/><br/>When asked about issue related to Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Mr Chidambaram claimed that overwhelming evidences are available that EVMs can be tempered with.
