India's first indigenous aircraft-carrying warship, INS Vikrant, is undergoing tests to land fighter jets and they will be deployed on this warship by May to June next year. Speaking to the media after reviewing the Passing Out Parade of the 143rd batch of the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune today, Indian Navy Chief Admiral R. Hari Kumar said, &nbsp;emphasis is being laid on the modernization of the navy and the government is providing support for it.<br />''<br />''The Navy Chief said that after the induction of the warship 'INS Vikrant' into the Navy's fleet, its sea trials have been completed and the trials of landing fighter jets have started. Generally, such tests take six to eight months. The Navy Chief expressed hope that these trials would be completed by next year's monsoon.<br />''<br />''Admiral R. Hari Kumar informed about the modernization plans of the Navy and said that the Navy believes in self-sufficiency and accordingly the modernization program is being implemented. Admiral R. Hari Kumar said, he Navy has taken a historic decision to induct women sailors. Under the 'Agniveer' scheme, three thousand vacant posts of sailors will be filled.&nbsp;<br />
