INS Tarangini, Shabab Onam returns to Kochi after joint sailing

In Kochi, grand reception was accorded to Indian Naval Ship Tarangini and Oman Naval Ship Shabab, reached Kochi after a joint sailing from Oman. INS Tarangini has returned after her Lokyan expedition. During this expedition, Tarangini participated in tall ship races across Europe. <br/><br/>Oman Naval Ship Shabab joined Tarangini during the last leg of the expedition from Oman to Kochi. INS Tarangini returned Kochi within a period of seven months and six days after visiting 17 ports in 14 countries covering more than 17,000 nautical miles. The joint sailing of Tarangini and Shabab was conducted from Oman to Kochi during the last leg of the Lokyan. <br/><br/>It was part of the celebrations of 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Oman. There were seven officers and 41 sailors in Tarangini during its expedition. Training was imparted to 150 sea trainees during the expedition. A grand welcome with water salute of the naval crafts and traditional Kerala drum beats were given to both ships when they reached Kochi today.
