INS Kochi returns to Mumbai after rescuing 188 people from Barge P305

<span style="color: #222222;">INS Kochi has returned to Mumbai after rescuing 188 people from Barge P305 that had gone adrift on Monday in the wake of Cyclone Tauktae. Along with the rescued personnel, the ship also returned with the bodies of 22 victims who could not be saved.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking to reporters after returning to its base, Commanding Officer, INS Kochi, Captain Sachin Sequeira said the warship sailed to conduct the search and rescue operation under difficult conditions. He said  poor visibility, wind speeds of about 100 kmph and waves roaring to 9-10 metres in height made the operations challenging. Stating the sea conditions have improved now, Captain Sequeira said search and rescue operation is still on with INS Teg, INS Betwa, INS Beas P8I aircraft and SeaKing Helos still trying to locate survivors.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mumbai's Defence PRO has informed that names of survivors and the bravehearts have been conveyed to AFCONS and ONGC.
