INS Jalashwa set to sail from Male to Tuticorin for fourth round of evacuation of Indians

Indian Navy Ship INS Jalashwa is all set to sail from Maldives capital of Male for the fourth round of evacuation of Indian nationals carrying around 700 passengers for Tuticorin in Tamilnadu. Passengers have started arriving at the Male airport where emigration and medical checks are being carried out before embarkation. Safety guidelines are being strictly adhered to and handling personnel have been provided with full safety gear. The ship will reach Male late afternoon and is expected to reach Tuticorin by Sunday morning.  <br />''<br />''Indian high commission in Male has made arrangements in coordination with Maldives authorities and has expressed thanks to the latter for its support. Over two thousand Indian nationals based in Maldives have been evacuated as part of Vande bharat mission so far. Earlier, INS Jalashwa sailed twice and INS Magar once from Male to bring back around 1500 people to Kochi last month. Two Air India flights operated from Male last month while arrangements have also been made for chartered flights for companies and individual groups.<br />''<br />''Over five thousand people have registered for evacuation from Maldives, which has also seen around 200 COVID infections among Indian nationals. There are three Air Indian flights scheduled later this month.  INS Jalashwa had also brought 685 people to Tuticorin this week from Sri Lanka as part of the Samudra Setu program under the Vande Bharat Mission.<br />
