Inquiry on against people showing big money as agriculture income to evade tax: Jaitley

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told Rajya Sabha, an inquiry is being conducted against what he termed certain very big people for tax evasion showing as agriculture income.<br/><br/>He told, opposition members, who raised the issue of certain affluent farmers taking agriculture route to evade tax officials, there is no question of taxing genuine farmers.<br/><br/>Sharad Yadav of JDU, quoting a private television channel, alleged, nearly 6.50 lakh farmers illegally earned 2 thousand lakh crore rupees during 2011-12.<br/><br/>Jaitley sought the support of opposition leaders in nailing down unscrupulous tax evaders who take agriculture route.
