<span style="color: #222222;">An inquiry committee will be set up to probe the reasons behind the death of the under trial author Mushtaq Ahmed in jail on Thursday.<br />'' <br />'' Home Minister of Bangladesh Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that there would be a proper investigation into the incident and action will be taken if anyone is found guilty, reports the official news-agency BSS.<br />'' <br />'' Writer Mushtaq Ahmed was arrested in May last year under the controversial Digital Security Act (DSA) on the charges of spreading rumours and carrying out anti-government activities on Facebook.<br />'' <br />'' The 53 year old writer was lodged in Kashimpur jail where he died on Thursday.<br />'' <br />'' The death of Mushtaq Ahmed has led to organisations working to protect freedom of press demanding investigation in the case.<br />'' <br />'' Criticising the government for arresting Mushtaq under DSA, the US based Committee to protect Journalists (CPJ) called on Bangladeshi authorities to conduct a swift, independent and transparent investigation into the death of the under trial writer.<br />'' <br />'' The incident has also led to protests in Dhaka. Police baton charged a torchlight procession in the Dhaka University area on Friday evening after students brought out a protest march against the death of Mushtaq.<br />'' <br />'' Several people including students and police personnel are reported to be injured in the incident.<br />'' <br />'' Earlier, another protest had taken place in the university area on the same issue.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, 13 heads of missions including the ambassadors and High Commissioners countries including US, UK, Denmark, EU, France, Germany, Spain among others issued a joint statement expressing 'grave concern' at the death in custody of Mushtaq Ahmed.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The signatories called upon the Bangladesh government to conduct a swift, transparent and independent enquiry into the full circumstances of the death of Mushtaq Ahmed.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">They also expressed concern over the provisions and implementation of DSA as well as questions relating to its compatibility with Bangladesh's obligations under the International human rights laws and standards.&nbsp;</span><br />'' &nbsp;
