The first tranche of 1,872 tonne of tur dal has arrived in the country and will be allocated to states as per their request. Ministry of Food and Public Distribution today said the remaining consignment of 5,000 tonne of Tur will reach the country very soon. AIR correspondent quoting ministry sources reports, post Kharif sowing of onions has been good and is expected to lead to improved supply. First tranche of onion is expected from China and Egypt on October 3rd which will moderate the prices further.
