<span style="color: #222222;">The COVID 19 India National Supermodel committee led by Professor M Vidyasagar has said that the initial lockdown saved a large number of lives and avoided creating widespread panic.<br />'' <br />''Briefing reporters, M Vidyasagar said, if there would have been no lockdown, the number of deaths due to COVID by August would have crossed 25 lakhs. He said, the cumulative mortality projected to be less than 0.04 per cent of the total infected. M Vidyasagar said, the upcoming festival and winter season may increase the susceptibility to infection. He said, all activities can be resumed provided proper safety protocols continue to be followed. Professor M Vidyasagar said if all the people follow the protocol, the pandemic can be controlled by early next year with minimal symptomatic infections by February end.</span><br />
