I.T Major Infosys will begin construction of first facility in West Bengal at New Town, Rajarhat, adjacent to Kolkata, within 6 months. The CEO and MD of Infosys, Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan said in Kolkata on Monday that his company is for creating employment opportunity in the state as well as the region. He said, the Infosys facility will come up over 50 acres it received from the West Bengal Government and create employment opportunity for nearly 20 thousand people. The Chief Minister and the state IT Minister Mr. Debesh Das is persistent enough to make this happened, he said. Mr. Gopalakrishnan also said that there is a lot of IT talent and enough employment opportunity could be generated from the sector. Mr. Gopalakrishnan had a 30 minute meeting with the Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharya and the IT Minister Mr. Debesh Das in Kolkata on Monday.
