Infosys CEO urges centre to simplify income tax procedures

Infosys Chief Executive Officer K. Gopalakrishnan has said that in the near future, India would be emerging as major IT destination of the world. He was addressing the media after the inaugural function of Infosys software development centre at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. He said at present China alone can match India's strides in IT sector.Urging the Centre to simplify Income tax procedures to give further boost to IT sector , IT pioneer Kris Gopalakrishnan said that India's IT sector is to record 16 to 18 per cent growth this fiscal and that of Infosys will be around 26 per cent. He pointed out that compared to near stagnation in the United States, 14 lakh students are learning engineering courses in India. Earlier, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan inaugurated the first software development centre of Infosys that can absorb 1600 professionals at the Technopark premises.
