Inflation fell to 0.70 per cent for the week ending September 26. It was 0.83 per cent in the previous week. The fall is due to slight easing of food prices over the week. Among food items poultry chicken fell by 3 per cent while bajra, fruits and vegetables, condiments and spices, and arhar prices slipped by a per cent each. Manufactured food items saw a decline in prices also. Oil cakes decreased by 5 per cent, imported edible oil fell by 2 per cent and sugar, malted food, coconut oil and groundnut oil decreased by 1 per cent each.
