Retail inflation has fallen to 3-month low of 8.28 per cent in May. Subdued prices of vegetables, cereals and dairy products pushed down the retail inflation. The retail inflation, measured on consumer price index (CPI), was 8.59 per cent in April. As per the data released by government today, food inflation also fell slightly to 9.56 per cent in May against 9.66 per cent in April. According to the data, inflation rate measured for rural areas of the country was 8.86 per cent while for urban areas it was 7.55 per cent.
