Inflation at (-)3.81% in October; Pulses, onion expensive

The wholesale inflation rate has moved up to minus 3.81 per cent in October, from minus 4.54 percent in September, mainly as pulses, vegetables and onions turned costlier. This is the 12th month in a row that wholesale price inflation has remained in the negative zone.According to data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry today, besides pulses and onions, milk and wheat also became costlier. But, inflation in the fuel and power segment was minus 16.32 per cent, and in manufactured products minus 1.67 per cent.Inflation for August has been revised upwards to minus 5.06 per cent, from the provisional estimate of minus 4.95 per cent.
