Gianni Infantino has vowed to lead FIFA out of years of corruption and scandal, after being elected to succeed Sepp Blatter as President of football's world governing body. The former UEFA General Secretary secured the victory with 115 votes on the second ballot, as no candidate received two-thirds of the votes in the first round. Before the election, the Congress had overwhelmingly passed a set of reforms intended to make FIFA more transparent, professional and accountable.
