Industry bodies welcome 4th tranche of economic package

Industry body Assocham and FICCI have welcomed the measures announced by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as part of fourth tranche of economic package. FICCI President Dr Sangita Reddy said that Government is turning the crisis into an opportunity for India, the government is turning the crisis into an opportunity for India.

She said, the measures announced were in the same direction of creating more opportunities for Indian industry and leveraging the strengths of both large business houses as well as start-ups. These measures will lay the foundation for long term growth and provide impetus to sectors that can help share the future of India.

ASSOCHAM General Secretary Deepak Sood said, major policy decisions across the most critical and strategic sectors  unveiled by Finance Ministe today clearly demonstrates the Narendra Modi Government's resolve to stay on course of bold economic reforms, undaunted by the Covid-19 global health crisis.

He said, the announcements on major policy reforms, combined with the previous three tranches of the 20 lakh crore rupees economic package  to deal with the human and economic costs of the Covid-19 lend a confidence to 130 crore Indians, that with a strong and cohesive leadership both at the Centre and states, any crisis can be dealt with courage. He said, decisions like corporatisation of Ordnance Factories with the stock listing option and a positive list for the domestic companies for Defence production would go a long way in making India self-reliant.
