Industries can be set up easily in West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee

In West Bengal, nine day long Asansol Industry and Trade Fair began in Burdwan today. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the fair being organised by the Asansol Chamber of Commerce. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Banerjee mentioned various efforts of her government for the industrialization in the State which will result in employment generation. She said that Rs 40,000 crore will be invested for expansion of Durgapur Steel Plant in Burdwan District besides Rs 3,200 crore for road project and 1,500 MW for power project. The Chief Minister said that permissions are now easily available to set up industry in the state. The State Industry and Finance Minister Amit Mitra, Labour Minister Maloy Ghatak were present at the function. AIR correspondent reports that about 3 hundred stalls from various industrial segments like automobiles, machinery, consumer durables, garments, real estate, hospitality, education and health care are participating in the fair. This will also create a platform for interaction with potential buyers and sellers besides promotion of brands and products.
