The country' industrial output rose three point eight per cent in September this year. Factory output measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production had increased 5 per cent in September last year, and 4.5 per cent in August this year. Data released by the Central Statistics Office today showed that manufacturing sector output rose 3.4 per cent in September, electricity generation also increased 3.4 per cent, while mining sector output jumped 7.9 per cent.Capital goods output climbed 7.4 per cent during the month under review. Consumer non-durables output surged 10 per cent in September, but consumer durable goods output contracted 4.8 per cent.
