Centre today announced that it will make available Indu Mill land in Mumbai to Maharashtra government for construction of B R Ambedkar Memorial . Making a statement in the Lok sabha, Textile Minister, Anand Sharma said that decision has been taken as both the Houses in Maharashtra had unanimously adopted a resolution for construction of the proposed memorial.
Making a similar statement in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affair, Rajiv Shukla said that more details on the issue will be given on Thursday.

BSP leader Ms. Mayawati appreciated the government's decision on construction of a memorial of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, she said that government has to inform about details of this memorial. She said that atleast 40 to 50 acre land will be required for this memorial.
