Saina Nehwal has advanced to the semi-finals of the women's singles in the Indonesian Super Series Premier badminton tournament. In the quarter-final at Jakarta on Friday, the World Number Two and second seed defeated Carolina Marin of Spain in straight games 21-16, 21-19. However, in the men's singles, India's Ajay Jayaram and RMV Gurusaidutt crashed out of the tournament. In their quarter-finals, while Jayaram lost to German Marc Zwiebler in straight games, Gurusaidutt went down against Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia in three games.
