The ruling Golkar Party in Indonesia has hailed the idea to give military members<br/>the right to vote in the next general elections. <br/><br/>Golkar Party Associate Chairman Priyo Budi Santoso said, the idea to give servicemen the right to vote is a progressive one. <br/><br/>The head of the political and legislative affairs of the executive board of the country's second biggest party said Golkar had actually once proposed the idea during the revision of the law on political parties.<br/><br/>Golkar Party welcomed it now after President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had given a positive signal about it, he said adding although the idea also has pluses and minuses which must be discussed thoroughly.
