In Indonesia, at least four people were killed during a police operation against suspected militants on the island of Java. Reports say armed police raided a house in the outskirts of the central city of Solo, believed to be a militant stronghold. Witnesses said they heard an explosion and gunfire coming from the house. Some reports say the target was Urwah – an associate of the wanted militant, Noordin Mohammed Top. Urwah is believed to have been killed in the raid, although this has not been confirmed by the authorities.
