Police in Indonesia say they have arrested a ferry captain and two other people in connection with a fire that left at least 27 people dead last week. They said the three suspects include a bus driver whose vehicle is believed to have been the source of the blaze. The police also arrested the captain and engineer on the ferry for negligence, including failing to make the bus driver turn off his engine. The fire swept through the crowded ferry between the islands of Java and Sumatra , forcing many of its more than 400 passengers to leap into the sea. Police on Tuesday raised the confirmed death toll to 27 after more bodies were found in the wreckage.
