Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal and P Kashyap have advanced into the next round of the Indonesian Open Super Series badminton tournament in Jakarta. However, PV Sindhu crashed out of the tournament. Second seed Saina got the better of her Thai opponent Nichaon Jindapon 21-16, 21-18. Sindhu lost her gruelling first round 21-16, 15-21, 14-21 to Chinese Taipei's Hsu Ya Ching. Meanwhile, in the men's singles, Parupalli Kashyap overcame Thailand's Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk 21-17, 21-7 to advance to the second round. World number 14, Kashyap next faces fifth seed Korean Wan Ho Son. Saina will now take on Ching Hsu for a place in the women's singles quarterfinals.
