The United States has sought to strengthen bilateral relations between New Delhi and Washington in various sectors. Talking to All India Radio this morning, the visiting President Barack Obama said United States intends to strengthen what is already an incredible partnership between US and India to what will be a defining partnership of the 21st Century.He will work on strengthening co-operation in bilateral relations in international commerce and focus on counter terrorism in particular. Calling India a world power, the visiting dignitary said that he is looking forward to more and more engagements between the two countries.After inspecting a tri-service Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhawan, He said both the countries share an extraordinary people-to-people contact. He hoped that during by discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and others were will be able to build on commercial ties, strengthen our bilateral relations on international economy, on counter-terrorism for a secure US and India in the future. He also said US and India will work on international principles and for peace and stability not only for the two countries but for the world. Later, Mr Obama with his wife Michelle paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
