Indo-UK combined military exercise begins in Bikaner

A 14 day long Combined Military exercise 'Ajeya Warrior- 2017' between India and the UK begins near Bikaner this morning. The exercise will take place in the Mahajan Field Firing Range near Bikaner of Rajasthan. <br/><br/>20 Rajputana Rifles unit of the Indian Army and the first battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment of the UK Army are participating in the exercise, which is third joint military exercise between the two countries. <br/><br/>The first exercise of this series was held in Belgium in 2013 and the second maneuvers were held in the UK in 2015. AIR correspondent reports that about 120 Army personnel from both the armies are participating in the exercise. <br/><br/>The objective of this exercise is to increase mutual cooperation and coordination between the two countries. Both armies will learn and share from each other's experiences. <br/><br/>20 Rajputana Rifles has special experience in the field of counter terrorism in Operation Pawan and operations in Jammu and Kashmir, while the First Battalion of Royal Anglian Regiment has experience of showing war skills in Afghanistan and Iraq. <br/><br/>The units of both the armies have made extensive preparations for this maneuver so that they can better understand each other and take advantage of each other's experiences.<br/><br/>
