Indo-Pak Commerce Secys meet to set agenda for Ministerial meet

Commerce Secretaries of India and Pakistan met today in New Delhi to discuss trade-related issues and set the agenda for the Ministerial meeting later this week. Besides taking stock of trade relations, Commerce Secretary S R Rao and his Pakistani counterpart Qasim M Niyaz also discussed issues like trading in power and petroleum products.Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and Pakistan's State Minister for Commerce and Textile, KhurramDastagir Khan will meet on 18th of this month. Khan is coming to New Delhi for the SAARC Business Leaders Conclave starting tomorrow.The Commerce Secretaries of India and Pakistan met last time in September, 2012. During that meeting, both the sides had emphasized on the need to increase trade traffic through the Railways. Our Correspondent adds that spokesperson of the External Affairs Ministry, Syed Akbaruddin had said earlier this week that the meeting of the Commerce Ministers of the two countries, should not be construed as resumption of the dialogue process.
