Indo-Jap co-operation in Infrastructure and Tourism

India and Japan have agreed to cooperate in the field of Tourism and Infrastructure.

Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai met Japanese Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure Jin Matsubara in Tokyo and discussed opportunities for investment in tourism infrastructure in India. An official press release stated that Japanese government is also keen to invest in Buddhist and medical tourism in India.

Mr. Matsubara appreciated Indian medical systems like Yoga and Ayurveda, both immensely popular in Japan. He showed keen interest to open more yoga centers in Japan. During the meeting, Mr. Sahai said that an Indian cultural troupe will participate in the Festival of India in Japan. It will be organised to celebrate the 60th year of diplomatic relations between Japan and India. A Taj Mahal made of ice will also be replicated in this festival.
