India and Bangladesh will sign framework agreements for cooperation on development during the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Dhaka on September 6th and 7th. Briefing reporters in Dhaka about Dr. Singh's visit, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said that in addition to framework agreement, an agreement for sharing of waters of Teesta and Feni rivers will also be signed. Dr. Dipu Moni added that a protocol on land boundary issue related to un-demarcated border areas, adverse possession of land and enclave areas will also be signed. The two countries will also be signing four MoUs related to cooperation in renewable energy sector, fishery development, exchange of programmes between Bangladesh Television and Doordarshan and cooperation in education between Dhaka University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. The two sides will also exchange letters related to transit issues during the visit. Dr. Singh is scheduled to arrive on September 6th morning in Dhaka. He will be holding discussions with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the evening following which the agreements are expected to be signed.
