Indo-Bangladesh ‘Border Haat’ trade by June

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma has reached Dhaka on a two-day visit to Bangladesh. Following his arrival, the Commerce Minister held discussions with his Bangladeshi counterpart Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Faruk Khan. This was followed by delegation-level talks between the two sides.Later taking to reporters, the Commerce Minister said both the countries had decided to inaugurate the Border Haat Trade by June. India has also agreed to increase the quota for readymade garments from Bangaldesh from 8 million pieces to 10 million pieces for this financial year.Sharma is leading a 12-member official delegation. A 20-member business delegation is also accompanying him. Sharma will be calling on the Bangladesh Prime Minister on Sunday.
