A two day meeting of the India -Bangladesh Joint Working Group on security issues began this morning in Dhaka. Mr. Shambu Singh, Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry in Charge of the North Eastern states is leading the Indian delegation while the Joint Secretary in Charge of Political affairs Dr.Kamaluddin Ahmed is leading the Bangladesh delegation. The Joint working group will finalize the agenda for the Home Secretary level talks between the two countries scheduled to begin from tomorrow. Home secretary G.K.Pillai who arrived in Dhaka this afternoon for the talks. The discussions will focus on various issues related to bilateral co-operation on security issues like border management and co-operation between law enforcement agencies in tackling militancy, insurgent and terrorist groups, illegal smuggling of arms and ammunition, fake currency and drug trafficking.
