Indo-Bangla Home Secy talk on border, human trafficking, narcotics

Border management, human trafficking and smuggling of narcotics are believed to have discussed at the Home Secretaries level discussions between India and Bangladesh on Saturday. The talks will continue on Sunday.

Ahead of talks today the Home Secretary of Bangladesh Monzur Hussain met Home Minister P Chimdambarm last evening and discussed a whole range of issues.

He also met the foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai and reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken during Prime Minister's visit to Dhaka in September this year. Checking infiltration of illegal immigrants will also come up for discussion.

AIR Correspondent reports that the Joint Working Group of India and Bangladesh met in New Delhi on Friday and prepared the agenda for the talks. The Indian side at the talks is led by the Home Secretary R K Singh.
