Revenue collection from indirect taxes has gone up by 42 percent. An official release says, the collection during April to November period was 2 lakh and 7 crore rupees, against 1.45 lakh crore made during the same period last year. With this almost 66 percent of the overall target of 3.13 lakh crore rupees fixed for this financial year has been met. By this time last year, only 54 .5 percent of the target was met. The maximum increase was registered in revenue collection from customs with a growth of 67 percent. The indirect taxes mainly comprise central excise and service tax apart from customs.
