The 27th Indira Marathon was organized today in Allahabad. More than nine thousand Marathon and cross country runners took part in today’s mega event. Arvind Kumar from Bilaspur won the first prize. He finished marathon’s distance of 42 kilometers and 195 meters in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 3 seconds. Arvind won a prize of one lakh twenty one thousand rupees. Elams Singh of Army sports Institute, Pune, stood second who touched the finishing line in 2 hours 23 minutes and 51 seconds. Karan Singh also from Army Sports Institute, Pune got the third place.In Women’s category, Allahabad sprinter Anisha Devi of Uttar Pradesh, won the Indira Marathon for the second time consecutively. Anisha touched the finishing line in 2 hours 59 minutes and 16 seconds. Sukanya Mal from Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh was the runner up while Ranjana Kumari got the third spot.
