India's teenage squash sensation 'Anahat Singh' youngest athlete to represent country at Commonwealth Games

India's teenage squash sensation 14 year old Anahat Singh is the youngest athlete to represent the country at the Commonwealth Games. At the age when children are busy in school , Anahat qualified for the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash 2022 after she defeated England's Torrie Malik. AIR correspondent reports, she is the top ranked player in Asia in the Girls U15 category after winning the Girls U15 title of the Asian Junior Squash Individual Championships 2022.

Delhi based Anahat became the first Indian to win the US Junior Open Squash Championship held at the Arlen Spectre Centre in Philadelphia in December last year. Singh started playing badminton when she was six years old and her Squash journey began with her sister Amira while she accompanied for the game. Later, Anahat took part  in some squash tournaments and started performing well in the game.Her love for Squash grew finally making her swith to it at the age of 8. She rose to fame in January 2019 after winning the Girls U11 title at British Junior Open Squash followed by the Girls U13 title at the Dutch Junior Open Squash in the same year.
