The country's steel consumption declined by 5.2 per cent in September, to 6.2 million tonnes, compared to August this year.But steel consumption increased 5 per cent compared to September last year.Production of steel fell 1.3 per cent last month, to 7.3 million tonnes, according to official data.In the first half of this fiscal, consumption of finished steel grew 4.1 per cent, to 39.1 million tonnes, compared with the year-ago period.
