Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar has said that India's neighborhood is a strong priority for New Delhi's foreign policy initiatives. Speaking at the launch of International think tank Carnegie Endowment's centre in New Delhi today, Mr Jaishankar said, in the last many months, the world has become familiar with India's foreign diplomacy policy that is neighbourhood first.<br/><br/>He said, India's reputation for reliability has been strengthened by the broadening ambit of bilateral cooperation. Mr Jaishankar said, degree of attention devoted to neighbours is probably unprecedented and it is visible at every level and is also yielding results. <br/><br/>Speaking on Pakistan, he said, until the issues of terrorism are addressed, it is difficult to say that the relationship with Pakistan is normal. He said, challenges of relations with Pakistan India has fared well in keeping focus firmly on the issue of terrorism. He said, India is also looking towards economic cooperation and people to people ties. He said, forging an international consensus on a difficult issue like terrorism is a test before the world. <br/><br/>The Foreign Secretary said, persuading key partners that strengthening of Indian economy is in their strategic interest is one of the core objectives of current Indian diplomacy. He said, high level visits are taking place to more countries some times after a gap of decades. He said, India had Ministerial level visits to 130 nations since this government came to office.
