The Indian medal hunt continued in right earnest on the fourth day of competitions in the Commonwealth Games on Thursday, enabling the hosts to retain their second spot in the medals ladder for the third day running. The hosts grabbed three gold and silver medals apiece, apart from four bronze, to take their haul to 34. The medals include 14 Gold, 11 Silver and 9 Bronze. Australia continued to widen their overall lead over the rest with a tally of 33 gold, 19 silver and 18 bronze. Third placed England's medal haul stood at 12 gold, 23 Silver and 11 bronze. Haryana's Geeta Phogat gave India their first gold medal in 55 kg category of women's wrestling, that has made its debut in the games.
