India’s liquidity situation tight now due to 3G: Pranob

Chief Statistician Pranob Sen says liquidity situation in the country is tight now due to 3G spectrum payout and there is little scope for RBI to hike interest rates. The bank is to unveil its revised monetary policy on July 27. Pronab Sen said in New Delhi said that the fuel price hike will have some immediate impact on inflation but in the long run it will help reduce fiscal deficit .This will result in arresting the inflationary pressure on the economy in the long run. <br/>Addressing a function to mark the Fourth Statistics Day, the Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari reiterated government's commitment to strengthen the credibility and transparency of the official statistical system. This year the theme of the day is Child Statistics. Ansari asserted that Children constitute 42 per cent of population which can prove a great demographic resource to propel higher economic growth. <br/>
