President Pranab Mukherjee has said that India's legitimate claim for a permanent membership in the UN Security Council is now getting a stronger resonance, with India enhancing engagements with like-minded countries in multilateral organisations.<br/><br/>Inaugurating the 35th India International Trade Fair 2015 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, he said, India recently conducted the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit successfully and the participation of all 54 African countries in the summit in foreign policy terms moved the country into a select group of nations having the capacity and ability to engage all of Africa simultaneously.<br/><br/>Speaking on the economy, Mr Mukherjee said, India can become a ten trillion dollar economy in the next two decades through manufacturing and innovation as the reforms of the government are on the right track.<br/><br/>He said, India has stood well despite global slowdown and the initiatives taken by the government are now showing results.<br/><br/>He hoped that India will be able to achieve the target of 3 per cent fiscal deficit as the current account balance and foreign exchange reserves have improved.<br/> <br/>The President said, India International Trade Fair will help preserve, protect, promote and reinforce the Indian brand.<br/><br/>He said, the annual celebration of trade is to develop India's bilateral relations with the rest of the world. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Commerce and Industry Ministry Nirmala Sitharaman said the event is of a global stature and would see participation by at least 28 countries. <br/><br/>This year Afghanistan is the partner country and Bangladesh has been roped in as the focus country.<br/><br/>Within states, Goa and Jharkhand are partner states, while Madhya Pradesh is the focus state. Over 7,000 firms from India and overseas are participating in the 14 day fair.<br/> <br/>The event has been divided into two segments-where November 14th to 18th will be business days and general public days are from November 19 to 27.<br/><br/>The fair will be open from 9.30 AM to 7.30 PM. Tickets will be available in Metro stations.
