India's Kabaddi team defeats Pakistan to lift title

Indian Kabbadi team on Tuesday lifted 1st Asian Men Circle Style Kabbadi Championship played at Tabriz in Iran by crushing its arch rival Pakistan by 53-38 . India and Pakistan were almost on even terms at the half- time score of 24-22, but in the second half India dominated proceedings, opening up a huge 15-points difference.Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is in Iran especially for this tournament announced a cash prize of 25 lac rupees for Indian team.A press release issued by Punjab government at Chandigarh said that eight teams participated in this tournament and the teams were divided in two groups.In group A India, Iran, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka and in Group B Pakistan, Nepal, Turkmenistan and Indonesia were the teams. Speaking to Media in Iran , Mr. Badal said that this is the perfect curtain raiser for 2nd world cup Kabaddi.
