The medal rush will continue on day four of the Commonwealth Games as 35 Gold are on offer today. Athletics will provide the highest number of medals today with as many as 7 gold medals on the line. Also, seven gold will be decided in the pool with five in Swimming and two in Synchronized swimming events. Cycling races, Wrestling and Shooting will offer four Gold each while Weightlifting and Archery each will account for two gold medals. Australia who are leading the medals tally will be looking to broaden its lead with eyes on medals in Cycling, Aquatics and Gymnastics. Host India will also be hoping to consolidate its position in the medals tally. Indian hopes will be pinned on Shooting, Archery, Weightlifting and Wrestling. India will be vying for medals in Athletics and Swimming also. In Shooting, Lajjakumari Gauswami and Tejaswini Sawant are top contenders for the top spot in women's 50 meters Rifles 3 position singles event. In men's 10 meters Pairs Pistol event Omkar Singh and Gurpreet Singh will be carrying the India medal hopes. Asher Noria and Ronjan Sodhi will be in contention for top honors in men's Double Trap singles event, while in 25m pairs Rapid fire pistol Vijay Kumar and Gurpreet Singh will eye the gold. India will hope to continue its Golden run in Wrestling with Indian women now competing for the gold. Nirmala devi in 48 Kilogram, Geeta in 55 kilogram category, Suman kundu in 63 kg and Anshu tomar in 72 Kilogram category will be in contention. In weightlifting, India's Sudhir Kumar will compete for the Gold in men's 77 kilogram category. India will also be hoping for medals in Archery Compound team events as both men's and the women's team in contention. The day will also see Indian challenge in Athletics, Boxing, Netball, Women's hockey and Swimming events.
