After rising for three consecutive weeks; India's foreign exchange reserves dropped by 2.592 billion US Dollar to 340.4 billion dollar in the week ended 10th April. An RBI press release has informed that foreign currency assets, a major part of the overall reserves, declined by 2.5 billion US dollar to 316 billion US dollar. In the previous week, the reserves had increased by 1.627 billion US dollar to 343 billion dollar, which was a lifetime high. India's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund also dipped by 20 million US dollar to 1.283 billion US dollar during the reporting week.
